In hosting its press conference on Sunday, NVIDIA kicked off CES with an inventive take on enabling a truly mobile lifestyle, and highlighting Project SHIELD is a great place to start your hunt for ARM Powered gadgets in our “Where’s ARM?” at CES contest. If you are attending CES, take a picture of an ARM Powered device and tweet about it with the hash tag #WheresARM. We will be giving away several ARM Powered products every day for those who participate at CES. See contest rules and giveaway information.
Sunday’s NVIDIA press conference - a swanky affair at Rain, a popular night club at the Palms Hotel - saw an overflow crowd of more than 500 people. I sat far removed from the stage, so the photo I took of Project SHIELD was by no means a work of art. It didn’t do much to capture the cool attributes of this 5-inch device that can play games or stream games from the cloud or a PC, and display locally or to HDTV.
You can get your photo of Project SHIELD for the “Where’s ARM” contest by visiting the NVIDIA booth in the South Hall 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (booth numbers 31265 and 31269).
Powering Project SHIELD will be the also just-announced NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor, featuring a quad-core ARM® Cortex™-A15 processor. NVIDIA showed how quickly this processor works in a demo loading 25 unique web pages. I was impressed.
Project SHIELD is the latest among the thousands of ARM Powered devices that will be on display at CES. With four more days, this thankfully gives me many opportunities to demonstrate my improved photo skills. But I’m more excited to see the creativity of others.
Stay tuned for more from ARM at CES on our blogs and by following the #WheresARM hashtag on Twitter.
