Software Sessions: Free Pegatron Nettop-while supplies last!

Hurry up and register for the ARM Software Sessions at ARM TechCon3 on Thursday, Oct 22 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. A Pegatron Nettop will be given to the first 80 pre-registered attendees who attend the sessions.

Session 1: Getting to Know Your Pegatron Nettop
Thursday, Oct 22 10:00am -11:00am Presented by Philippe Robin

This session will give an overview of resources and options available when developing natively on ARM. Pegatron Cortex-A8 based platforms running Ubuntu will be used as a case study, presenting the community development process as well as areas of optimizations, which are specific to each platform, and how these are handled in Linux/Ubuntu.

An in-depth overview of the ARMv7 Architecture features, with exploration into what is possible given the dynamic instruction set capabilities.

Session 3: Application Development

An in-depth overview of native and cross-compilation options, with a focus on Scratchbox development

Session 4: Android Development on ARM
Thursday, Oct 22 3:00pm - 4:00pm Presented by Dave Butcher

This session will show how best to use ARM platform when developing for Android using the NDK (Native Development Kit) to make full use of your CPU. It will take a simple processing intensive Image application and show how to improve performance by moving from a pure Android version, to native C, optimized assembler and finally to a high performance NEON implementation.
