As Prince William walks down the aisle with Princess Kate(?) it would probably be fair to say that the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) in San Jose will be far from their minds. But both are reasons to celebrate, for Royalists and republicans alike. As the royal couple embark on their new life in the media spotlight, the embedded community will be bursting into the glow that is the Embedded Systems Conference.
This year’s ESC Silicon Valley (or ESC West as those of us old enough to remember used to say) will once again be a feast fit for a King. With a host of conference papers, hands on workshops, tutorials, demos, and new products, all aimed at helping embedded system developers get the most out of their next design project.
In addition to a number of technology demos, covering tools, MCUs and high-performance embedded products, ARM will be announcing a couple of princely new products at the show, but for details you’ll have to be a little patient. We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but we’re sure they’ll be very well received.
ARM will again be hosting a number of Connected Community Partners in its ARM Partner Pavilion this year. Cadence, Crank Software, Gainspan, Energy Micro, Future Designs, Nuvoton and Microsemi will all be demonstrating their latest ARM processor-based innovations. To crown it all, the ARM booth #1308 will also feature a presentation theatre where attendees can hear more details about ARM technology, latest products, the ARM roadmap from ARM and its Pavilion Partners.
ARM technology is not limited to the ARM Partner Pavilion however. More than 60 ARM Partners will be represented at the show demonstrating and talking about their latest products. There may be fewer Union Jacks adorning every building at ESC than in the Mall in London, but it looks like being a right royal show nonetheless. (Must dash, I have to go and rehearse my flag waving while singing a few verses of the National Anthem).
Alan Tringham, Senior Corporate Marketing Manager, ARM, Since joining ARM in 2000 Alan has been responsible for marketing communications for the company’s processor division, and more recently its expansion into the embedded space where the ARM processor architecture, and its growing number of supporters, looks poised to consolidate the market.
